Meet our SCAD Serve Animation students under the direction of Professor Greg Azzopardi!
Juneteenth Atlanta is forever grateful to our SCAD student animation and creative thought team for giving us exactly what we needed to kick off our animation ideas. In offering Juneteenth to the public we thought it would be great to have animated characters to express our agenda. We wanted to make Juneteenth Atlanta a universal event by creating beings from other planets. Once these characters were created the idea was to present them traveling through space to attend the Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival making it a universal event. The second thought was to create animated Dee Jays to represent different eras in history and that again is where the SCAD Student team came in and took over.
We are forever appreciative and thankful to SCAD Serve for allowing their students to participate in this highly anticipated Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival project. We are also extending a special thank you to Dean Ballas on behalf of the entire administrative staff of SCAD. Dean was our first contact with SCAD and the rest is history. Dean and the administrative staff of SCAD gave its students the opportunity to work with our non profit organization on our Juneteenth Magazine (The first national Juneteenth printed Magazine), Our Juneteenth Atlanta Parade and Music Festival Brochure, and our animation characters project. We look ahead to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with SCAD Serve. It is my honor to acknowledge SCAD Serve and its staff and students as forever Juneteenth Atlanta Family!
