EVENT INSPIRATION

It is worth noting that if slavery was one of the worst moments in American history, then ending slavery would be one of the greatest moments in American history. Join together with Juneteenth Atlanta to once and for all end modern-day slavery where ever it exists. Human rights, liberty justice and freedom for all are the marching calls of Juneteenth Atlanta.

WHY SPONSOR JUNETEENTH ATLANTA
By sponsoring Juneteenth Atlanta you can expect to reach the perfect audience of:
  • Consumers of local businesses
  • College educated professionals
  • Those earning above average wages
  • Those that are tech savvy
  • Consumers actively engaged in community events

Besides its core - Atlanta and surrounding areas - Juneteenth Atlanta draws from all cities in the Southeast and offers approximately 15 roundtrip charter bus escorts from those cities to the annual festival. With targeted promotions, Juneteenth Atlanta has also experienced steady growth among national and international travelers. At its most basic level, Juneteenth Atlanta gives sponsors’ marketing dollars an annual vehicle to reach consumers. Its real value, however, lives in the Juneteenth Atlanta brand: an unflaggingly positive celebration of pride and achievement.

The four-day event brings in the holiday of freedom where thousands of people come together for music, art, history, and celebration. Juneteenth Atlanta requires musicians, speakers, vendors, artists, and DJs who participate to uphold a strict ban on suggestive violence, profanity, misogyny, and negativity in general.

When you associate your brand with Juneteenth Atlanta we positively help to differentiate you from your competitors, help you develop closer relationships with prospective customers, and publicly trumpet your significance in our diverse community consumers. Use this distinctively positive vehicle to help your brand gain better visibility, reach greater heights of awareness, loyalty, and favorable association throughout our demographics.

HISTORY OF JUNETEENTH ATLANTA

2012 - Georgia International Convention Center
2013 - Parkinson Park

2014 - The Shrine of The Black Madonna (first parade)
2015
 - Mozley Park
2016 - Morris Brown College
2017 - Morris Brown College

2018 - Mozley Park
2019 - The Home Depot Backyard
In 2020, (during the shut down) we led a parade and rally of over 18,000 participants through the streets of Atlanta, GA. Although the 2020 rally was different from our annual festival and parade offering, it proved to be a major success.

In 2021, after missing months of planning and fundraising opportunities due to state COVID restrictions, we had 50 days to produce and staff our Juneteenth Atlanta festival and parade for the event dates of June 18-20, 2021, at Centennial Olympic Park. During that time, we registered over two hundred-fifty vendors and approximately 2,200 parade participants. Thanks to the generous support from our community partners of performing artists, media sponsors ( V-103, Streetz 94.5, Smooth Jazz 101/100), our Atlanta Mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, we overcame all the challenges presented such as: just returning from a state shutdown, the logistics of a 22 acre venue, and a horrid 85% weather forecast of rain and thunder storms throughout the event weekend. Because of our organization’s persistence and determination to commemorate and celebrate Juneteenth despite all circumstances, Juneteenth Atlanta is now recognized as one of the largest Juneteenth celebrations in the world.

June17, 2021 Juneteenth became a national holiday!
Juneteenth Atlanta is a 10-year member of the National Juneteenth Observation Foundation founded by the late Rev. Ronald V. Meyers Senior M.D. The NJOF was the driving force behind Juneteenth becoming a national holiday. Our eldest member, Opal Lee, sat in the front row during the signing of Senate Bill S. 475 by President Biden, on June 17, 2021, making Juneteenth the 12th federal holiday. 2022 brings in our 10 year Juneteenth Atlanta anniversary and the first year anniversary of Juneteenth becoming a national holiday. We are going all out for Juneteenth Celebration 2022 and invite you to join us!

June 17-19, 2022
Juneteenth Atlanta completes its 10 year anniversary event with a bang. Juneteenth Atlanta was recorded to have 56,000 attendees and a demographic of 109,000 attendees with the parade and festival combined. Juneteenth Atlanta Parade was broadcasted by CBS46. The event successfully produced four stages, an acre of bouncy houses for youth and adults and over over 100 performers and offered numerous activities and a phenomenal Aboriginal parade.
